God the Help of Those Who Seek Him
A song of Ascents
"I will lift up my eyes to the hills-
From whence comes my help?
My help come from the Lord,
Who made heaven and earth.
He will not allow your foot to be moved;
He who keeps you will not slumber.
Behold, He who keeps Israel
Shall neither slumber nor sleep.
The Lord is your keeper;
The Lord is your shade at your right hand.
The sun shall not strike you by day,
Nor the moon by night.
The Lord shall preserve you from all evil;
He shall preserve your soul.
The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in
From this time forth and even forever more."
Here is a great promise, a promise of shelter, 24 hour protection...God will not fall asleep on the job, God will protect, preserve, and help us. I love the last part of this chapter...
"The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in
From this time forth and even forever more."
This promise of 24 hour protection will not end...it is not just for a short time, it is from this time forward until eternity!! I am so thankful today, for this reminder, that we can always trust that God is watching over us, and protecting us.
